    CT7-2E1

    The CT7-2E1 engine equips the AgustaWestland AW149 military helicopter that has two 1500kW-class engines and is able to transport up to 16 fully equipped people plus 2 crewmembers, and has a range of 1,000 km.

    Avio deals with the production of components for the low-pressure turbine and the accessory drive train.

    Avio participates as Risk Revenue Sharing partner of GE for the CT7-2E1, a variant of the T700 base motorisation and, besides significant modifications on various components (AGB, starter generator and parts of the hot section), a sophisticated control system called FADEC is foreseen.

    Avio, partner of GE, has a share of over 14% in the engine.

    Avio is responsible for the production of:
    - nozzle and fourth-stage seal
    - third- and fourth-stage airfoil

    Accessory Drive Train

    Avio is responsible for the production of the accessory drive train of the CT7-2E1engine.

    Avio deals with the procurement of some parts (gears, bearings, and seals), their machining (housing, adapter) and assembly in order to deliver a ready-to-use product to the customer.

    The accessory drive train includes the input gearbox, which transfers torque from the HP engine shaft to the gearbox of the vertical transmission shaft accessories, which connects the input gearbox to the Accessory Gearbox, which is supported on the upper side of the compressor casing of the engine and drives 6 accessories.
