    Ground Equipment

The AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment) is equipment used on air force bases where aircraft carry out their operating activities. In general, it is used to test the engine and, after maintenance interventions, engine parts. Avio’s main products are the AGE RIG for the EJ200 and the LAM for the SPEY.

The AGE RIG AFCS is the rig for the fluxing and filling of the hydraulic system circuit of the EJ200, and comprises an electric motor that drives a pump, which makes the oil circulate in the engine circuit. The operator interacts through the command panel with the PLC/inverter that manages all the functions (manual and automatic) and safety.
Its main function is the removal of air from the hydraulic circuit to guarantee its efficiency during the functioning of the engine.

The LAM is the SPEY test rig: it is used on the runway in order to authorise the aircraft at take-off. It is an electronic system having an interface with sensors and actuators of the engine, and a central unit (display and keyboard touch screen) through which the operator interacts with the system and runs the test. The LAM was produced for the Italian and Brazilian Air Forces.
