Military Aeroengine
Avio is engineer of reference for Italian Air Force as systems engineer responsible for assembly, test, certification, delivery and integrated logistic support of the engines; moreover, it operates on activities of Design Responsibility in the major Italian, European and international government programs.
In the air defence application, Avio holds two different roles. It designs and manufactures high technology products, like low pressure turbines, power transmissions, accessories driving transmissions, the stages of reheat and auxiliary power units.
Avio, acknowledged leader in design and manufacturing of components, is partner in many programs of European aerospace defence, as design responsible Company.
Significant examples of Avio programs are also turboprop TP400, for military transport aircraft A400M. In international field: the CT7-8 for American presidential helicopter US101, and co-operates with OEM for the development and production of the F136 engine that will power new one-engined multirole fighter Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, an extreme technologies program.
