The design capacity of Avio in the field of marine applications comes from experience in the bigger field of aviation. Avio is normally involved in development programs for aircraft engines for commercial and military use, particularly in the areas turbines and mechanical transmissions (power turbines and auxiliary).
Type of supply
In the naval ambit, for the line LM, Avio normally deals of the provision of the package for the propulsion system, which includes the gas turbine module (engine, base and housing) and subsidiary bodies of the engine, as i.e. the system of lubrication oil, fuel feed system, the fire-fighting system, the system for washing the compressor, silencers and filters of the ventilation and air admission.
One of the main auxiliary systems is the "Governor" better known as electronic control system of the turbine, which is entirely designed and manufactured by Avio and certified by General Electric.
The supply of Avio includes all technical assistance for final assembly, in close correlation with the needs of the shipyard, of the quality assurance of all activities necessary to ensure compliance and best performance of the system supplied.
Production
Avio has directly affected the production of engine components LM2500, LM2500 +, LM6000 and LMS100.
Avio provides final assembly of modules propulsion LM together at the base, to media, joints and flexible pipes, the pipes and to the housing. Also on the basis of the request of the Customer Avio has the ability to design and produce the base of support (Base) and housing (Enclosure) for all models belonging to the family of LM.
Recently, Avio had made a Base and Enclosure lighter and more modern also to be used in military applications for the Polish Corvette P621.
After-sale service
For many years, the company activities are targeted specifically to customer satisfaction. It then lends its full attention to the comments and observations of the latter in order to improve after-sales service and renew the product according to the needs of customers.
The naval product is very complex and particularly suitable for maintenance "on condition" rather than at fixed intervals.
Maintenance "on condition" requires monitoring system advanced and efficient of the engine, a friendly fulfilment board maintenance, including the replacement of components, and, of course, a highly reliable product.
In both naval areas (military and commercial) and industrial Avio can provide assistance at all the propulsion machinery (naval) or energy production (industrial) complete with a gas turbine, electronic control of the turbine and auxiliary systems.
Highly specialized personnel to perform all activities of repair, overhaul, as Avio is an Independent Service Provider (ISP) authorized by General Electric.
Engineering team with proven experience are able to offer a high quality assistance on the ground at the central or aboard ship.
Avio also can provide an Integrated Logistic Service (ISIS) offers a wide range of logistics products such as: ability to meet contracts Power by the Hour (PBH), Time Material, etc., configuration control, supply of spare parts, management of spare parts, training courses for staff, Technical Publications.
There is no need to recall that the crew must be well prepared in order to implement the procedures required. Avio makes available a training highly qualified in the Brindisi plant, together with a factory where perform any maintenance intervention. For testing the engines after the overhaul is set up a modern test cell.
