Derived from aeronautical CF6-6 family engines, the LM2500 turbines have twin shaft architecture and are characterized by very great reliability, over 99%.
They are offered in three different configurations, which maintain the majority of components common, able to operate in a power range from 18 to 34MW. From beginning of program about 2.300 LM200 units were installed, they totalized today nearly 60.000.000 of working hours
For this turbine a further 25 MW naval version has been developed, successfully installed on over 1.000 naval units.
