Derived from the CF6-6 aeroengine family, the LM2500 turbines have twin-shaft architecture and are characterised by great reliability (over 99%).
Three different configurations are offered, which maintain the majority of common components, able to operate in an 18-34MW power range. From the start of the programme, about 2,300 LM200 units have been installed, with nearly 60 million working hours.
Moreover, a 25 MW marine version was developed for this turbine, successfully installed on over 1,000 marine units.
