    DCS (Distributed Control System)

The Master 900 control system is used in combined cycle electric power plants, not only as a governor turbine but also to achieve a Distributed Control System (DCS).

The architecture of the DCS is Master/Slave for each system.

The main power plant systems controlled and monitored by the Master 900 are:

    • Steam turbines and condensers
    • Cylinders, boilers and super-heaters
    • Switches, disconnectors, generators, and electrical parts

    The main control functions are:

    • Plant start-up sequence
    • Automatic/manual plant controls
    • Automatic sequence
    • Generator control and monitoring
    • Plant supervision (sequence pages etc.), and management of alarms

Client/server models are generally used to put into action the plant supervision system. Two redundant SCADA (in Master/Slave configuration) communicate with the governor and other DCS equipment through a double network.

Alarms and command functions are printed on dedicated printers. First-out and SOE functions are integrated within the DCS. The DCS connects with different electric power plant equipment and systems (fire system, electrical vibration protection system, etc.).
