    V2500 A1/A5

The V2500 is an engine of International Aero Engine (IEA) in which Pratt&Whitney, Japanese Aero Engine Corporation and MTU Aero Engines take part. The engine has almost 4,000 engines in service and around 2,000 on order. The A1 version entered into service in 1989 and the A5 version in 1993. Today, the V2500 fleet has accumulated over 70 million flight hours. The engine equips the A320 aircraft family.

Avio deals with the design, development and production of the angular gearbox, accessory drive gearbox, recovery and delivery oil pumps.

    Accessory Drive Train

Design, development and production of the angular gearbox, accessory drive gearbox, delivery and recovery oil pump and oil tank. Overhaul of the delivery and recovery oil pumps.

The angular gearbox mechanically connects the radial transmission shaft, which takes motion from the HP engine shaft to the accessory drive gearbox, to which it is flanged. It is placed under the external fan case.

The accessory drive gearbox, supported together with the angular gearbox on the front side of the engine, mechanically operates 8 different accessories, between the engine and aircraft, two of which include the delivery and recovery oil pumps. The oil tank is integrated into the accessory drive gearbox.

    Low Pressure Turbine

Machining of powder-met high pressure turbine disks.

    Other Components

The delivery oil pump is a volumetric pump with gears and a single-stage architecture. The recovery oil pump, also a volumetric pump with gears, has a multi-stage architecture.
