

The SaM146 engine, the result of a collaboration between Snecma and NPO Saturn, was designed to power the Superjet 100 regional jet. In June 2010, the engine was certified, and in 2011 the aircraft began carrying out regular scheduled flights.
Avio is responsible, via a 10% share in a Risk Revenue Sharing Partnership, for the design, development, production and overhaul of the accessory drive gearbox, as well as the combustion chamber. The latter was designed with the aim of reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
