    PW4000-100

    The Pratt&Whitney PW4000 100 engine is destined for the twin-engine Airbus330.

The advanced technologies used such as the turbine with “single-crystal” airfoils and the FADEC system, have contributed to the reliability and range, and guaranteed optimised fuel consumption.

The current engine satisfies and forestalls the present requisites of noise and polluting emissions to guarantee a further reduction in emissions, especially NOx; the new TALON (Technology for Advanced Low NOx) technology is available for the combustor.

Avio, partner of Pratt&Whitney, is responsible for the production and supply of the spare parts for the Accessory Drive Train and Oil Tank.

The PW4000 -100 is a twin-shaft turbofan engine with high dilution ratio.
It is equipped with a Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) system.

It has a twin-shaft configuration featuring:

    • high-pressure compressor with eleven axial stages
    • two-stage high-pressure turbine
    • three-stage high-pressure turbine

    Main engine characteristics

Max Power at SL 65.000 - 70.000 lb
    Fan diameter 100 inches
    Overall pressure ratio 32.0 - 35.4
    Bypass ratio 5.0
