The CF6 engine family equips over 1,900 aircraft such as the Airbus A300, A310, A330 and Boeing B767 and B747. Moreover, the CF6-80 is also installed on the US President’s Boeing VC-25 aircraft known as Air Force One.
The CF6 is an engine that boasts a high by-pass ratio that has reached 260 million flight hours since its entry into service in 1971.
Avio, partner of GE, is responsible for the production of the transfer gearbox, accessory gearbox, inlet gearbox and some components of the low-pressure turbine (stator stages, rotor disks).
From the CF6, aeroderivative gas turbines have been produced for marine and industrial applications such as the LMS100 and LM6000.
