Platform simulator

The purpose of this training simulator is the operator training to control on-board instruments using command realistic console and panels for local operator.
Computer models simulating the behaviour of any kind of machinery of naval platform.

The main purpose of a simulator platform are:

  • train operators to use on-the-board equipment, giving them a feeling of real interface with the control system, as close as possible to that in board, allowing to gain experience of the reactions of the control system to the actions of the machinery;
  • evaluate the efficiency of the ergonomics of modifications to update, expand and improve the system board;
  • verify changes in the software to update, expand and improve the system board;
  • facilitate the maintenance operations of software;
  • provide data of the board system for detailed analysis of the ground systems.

A typical simulator platform includes:

  • Dash simulated control, including:
    • Console of the wheelhouse equipped with control System Guide and automatic pilot of navigation;
    • Console Platform;
    • Console to control security.
  • Simulated machines room, including:
    • Console Platform;
    • Console to control security.
  • Console to control security.
    • Dedicated control module with its panels of local operator.
  • Simulator Computer, which reproduces the hydrodynamic models of vessel and its machinery.
  • Instructor console, for the definition of scenarios for controlling and monitoring of the actions of the students, to simulate the conditions of alert, fault and other incidents on board.

The system simulation platform is capable of simulating the operation of the propulsion machinery, the power plant and security systems, in normal or critical mode, in order to train staff members to handle the different domains, to make experience in critical situations and direct the team dedicated to emergencies and to make vessel diagnostics in case of malfunction of the systems.
